I posted about this piece a while back but this was before I had nice pictures of the finish. This is a tunnel book about the opening scene of Wind in the Willows when Mr. Mole becomes fed up with his underground life and decides to leave his mole hole. I finally got a chance to take nice photographs and here they are:

City of Shells
I decided to do a poster-ish illustration based on a short story by Karen Russell from her collection St.Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves. The story follows a young girl who visits an island full of shells the size of houses as part of a school trip. The idea of these huge shells always was fun to me so I applied to a drawing:

If you get a chance it's really worth picking up a copy of Karen Russell's book and give it a read, it's one of my favorites.
